We have recently had a customer report the message 'four-wheel drive malfunction' sporadically shown in their instrument cluster. This message relates to a fault with vehicles Four Wheel Drive/Quattro system. The following models of Audi are affected by this fault:
VAG Bolton workshop diagnostics revealed that this issue relates to a common fault affecting 2017-2018 Quattro models. The fault code 'DTC C05ED00' means that the 4WD/AWD Clutch 'B' Stuck Engaged in the vehicles J492 module. We also repair fault code ‘C05DD00’ 4WD/AWD Clutch ‘A’ performance/Stuck.
